Cloud computing: AZURE

CLOUD COMPUTING PLATFORMS: AZURE

Microsoft Azure was earlier launched as Windows Azure. It is cloud computing platform developed by Microsoft to manage, test and run applications and to provide services related to storage, analysis and networking. It was initially released on February 1,2010. Currently it is ranked at second position among  cloud computing platform just behind Amazon web services, but its popularity and customer base is increasing day by day.

Azure and AWS are the two names that have made a huge impact in the cloud industry. There is a fierce competition going on between them. In some services AWS tends to be better while in other services Azure has the upper hand. Azure has successfully aced the hybrid cloud whereas AWS is still developing its hybrid cloud.

In terms of licensing AWS has been proved better and flexible.

For many organizations especially small businesses pricing factor is highly prioritized. They tend to choose their cloud platform very carefully; "one which charges less provides more" suits them the best. Eventually pricing of some services is better on AWS than on Azure but pricing of the  latter is considered more flexible for small businesses as their dataset is not as large as big firms handle. Azure is more preferred for dealing with small amount of data. Data Handling and managing small amount of data does not require high computational power. Computing services are provided by both platforms. AWS offers services like EC2, EC and AWS lambda. Even Azure has provisions for similar services which are termed as Azure virtual, app service and Azure functions.

Both platforms are giving a perfect competition to each other. The Consumer is getting benefit by their rivalry as both AWS and Azure try to provide best services so as to gain more clients. Businesses need to change the way they are operating with time. This can be done by involving the use of cloud computing. They need to try out new technological ways in which they can increase their output and customer base.
